GETTING TO THE STARTING LINE

‘Thank you for getting us to the starting line and for the confidence that we are going to have a successful campaign.”

A volunteer was reflecting on the long, complex and (at times) frustrating process his organization had undertaken to determine how best to respond to community issues and opportunities.

After an extensive strategic planning process, identifying and analyzing community needs, they sought input from community leaders, collecting even more data in the process.

Their efforts identified a bigger and critically important expansion of their mission in the community. This expansion meant they would need to raise capital funds well beyond what they had in the past, while significantly increasing annual contributions and establishing an endowment fund to help assure their long-term financial strength and mission viability.

How does an organization go through all that with the confidence expressed above? This volunteer spoke these words after being part of a DBD feasibility study and moving ahead with the recommendations contained within.

Complex change, that for so long had seemed impossible, had been defined and presented in a way that brought the organization to the starting point for a fundraising program that would result in a big and exciting vision for a new and better future to become reality.

Repositioning organizations and raising the funding required to make a bigger vision possible can be a daunting task… one that takes volunteer and staff leadership out of their comfort zone. If your organization has big ideas for your community and you’re not quite sure how to get to the starting line for a fundraising campaign with confidence, we’d love to work with you to make that possible!
