We don’t say it enough: we’re so proud of our clients. They do great work and, once they get the chance to share their stories with their communities, the communities respond in a big way.
Here are a few stories that made us smile this month:
CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH
Christ Lutheran Church is the only church in Marine on St. Croix, MN. As such it is part of the lives of nearly every one of the 694 residents of the town, whether or not they’re officially members.
When it was time to address some pressing facility needs in their historic church home, they began a campaign. More than capital, they also sought support for critical ministries in their community and around the world. This month, they had the joy of revealing to the congregation that they had raised over $1 million – exceeding their campaign goal!
SOMERVILLE YMCA
Following the successful merger of Somerset Valley and Somerset Hills YMCAs a few years back, President & CEO of Somerset County YMCA, David Carcieri and his volunteers are fulfilling their promise to reinvest in the aging Somerville YMCA. This project marks the beginning phase of a comprehensive capital campaign to expand the Y’s mission impact throughout Somerset County. We have a saying at DBD: when a merger or collaboration is done well, 1+1=3!
YMCA HAYO-WENT-HA CAMPS
This fall, YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps (Traverse City, MI) broke ground on two new health centers – one for the boys camp and one for the girls camp. Two generous donors challenged other alumni and camp families to raise the funds for these much-needed facilities – and in just over four months, they did it! This positive response to the first phase in their campaign will create momentum as they move forward.
This is just a glimpse into the great work we get to see day in and day out in large and small nonprofits, schools, faith-based organizations and more. While the campaign sizes may vary, the commitment and courage these leaders show is always impressive. Thanks for letting us play a part in your story!
