While we spend most of our time working on major gifts, we were inspired by this story of a grassroots fundraising effort done right.

Parents at a suburban-Chicago grade school were trying to raise $350,000 to renovate a local playground and create an improved outdoor learning environment for their K-4 school. (Read more in the Chicago Tribune) Although excitement around the project was high, the end of the school year was quickly approaching and supporters wanted to sneak in a student-focused fundraiser before school let out for the summer.

As Vice President of Resource Development, Peggy coaches executive staff and volunteers on increasing the effectiveness of their fundraising efforts.  Peggy’s prescriptive approach keeps the sessions focused on the organization’s strengths and challenges.  She meets her clients where they are, helping all to grow their fundraising skills. By developing strategic, measurable plans and skill sets, Peggy helps organizations not only meet their goals this year, but increase their capacity for the future.

In his role as Executive Vice President, Jon has oversight over product development and training for DBD. He, along with the rest of the leadership team, provides strategic direction and insight for the company. Michael Bussey comes to Donor By Design following a terrific YMCA career spanning nearly four decades.  The foundation of Mike’s Y work is rooted in many summers as a camp counselor, experiencing first-hand the impact that YMCA camping has on kids.  It was then he knew that he needed to dedicate his career to a mission-driven nonprofit that truly makes a difference.

In her role as Director of Operations, Dani supports both our valued clients as well as the Donor By Design Team.
