As a Senior Consultant with DBD Group, Kris has been involved with “all things grants” for nearly twenty years. From project planning to small and large application development to administration and management, she takes a strategic approach to the grant component of fundraising improving funding success rates for her clients.
In her work for DBD, Kris offers grant search, development, and research services for nonprofits, schools, municipalities, and businesses. These services include:
Kris has extensive experience with federal grant and contract funding within multiple agencies including the USDA, DOE, NSF, and NIH. She has successfully completed more than $8 million in awarded grant applications. In addition to her work as a grant development professional, Kris is co-founder and co-owner of Jord Producers, a company focused on sustainable alternative protein (insects) for the feed and food sectors. Her experience in the business sector and entrepreneurial nature brings a unique perspective to the DBD team. Kris’s favorite part of being involved in grant development for organizations is knowing that, in a small way, she is helping make big things happen.
Kris is a graduate of Concordia University (Seward, NE). She and her husband live on a “hobby farm” near Hastings, Nebraska. They have three kids, twenty chickens, an overweight chocolate lab, and a number of barn cats.
