As Senior Consultant with DBD Group, David brings over 30 years of leadership experience gained through both for-profit and non-profit organizations.

David provides counsel for:

• Developing plans for sustainability, revenue enhancement, cost control, working capital, and reserves for non-profits that are under stress.
• Strengthening of cash flow through operational excellence and financial management, while building bank relationships.
• Deploying financial policies to guide the organization forward.
• Developing annual budgets and long-range plans.
• Planning for large-scale capital projects to maximize return on investment.
• Developing Enterprise Risk Management best practices.
• Stepping into interim CFO roles to strengthen confidence with the Board and leadership.
• Maintaining stability across CFO responsibilities such as finance, treasury, risk, IT, facilities, and purchasing functions.
• Non-profit CFO coaching and mentoring.

Before joining DBD, David served as the Chief Financial Officer for YMCA of Greater Richmond for six years, guiding the Association through the pandemic. During that difficult period, revenues grew by 20% and cash reserves by 30%.

Prior to that, David worked 10 years at Elk Hill, a non-profit organization which helps at-risk children from across the Commonwealth of Virginia. During his tenure, the number of children served doubled, while David led the development of Elk Hill’s Medicaid services.

David began his career in the for-profit arena. He started his career at Texas Instruments and became CFO of one of its growing telecom businesses. He then moved to Richmond, Virginia and joined Invensys, plc, a London-based manufacturing and technology company. He was CFO of one of its large divisions.

David and his wife Stephanie live in Richmond, Virginia and enjoy spending time with their two daughters and their families.
