For nearly 30 years, Bruce Berglund, CFRE, has been a successful professional fundraiser in the fields of higher education, arts and culture, and social services.
Bruce is the CEO and Founder of DBD Group (formerly Donor by Design Group), a national firm providing comprehensive fundraising services to nonprofits, churches, community colleges and schools. DBD is currently managing more than $3 billion in capital, annual and endowment campaigns. Bruce is a highly sought-after writer, speaker and teacher.

Prior to founding DBD Group, Bruce served as national Director of Philanthropy and Resource Development for the YMCA of the USA. In addition, Bruce served local YMCAs in St. Louis and Milwaukee as the Chief Development Officer. He was also a founding member of The Crossing Church in St. Louis, MO.
He also served as the Chief Development Officer for the Saint Louis Art Museum and Director of Advancement for Doane College. Bruce served as a member of the Buehler YMCA board of directors, has served on the North American YMCA Development Organization (NAYDO) Council and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Currently, Bruce serves on the Doane University Board of Trustees.
Bruce holds a BA from Doane College, where he majored in communication and human relations, and a MA in Management from Webster University. Bruce currently services on the Doane University Board of Trustees.
Bruce and his family live in the Chicago area.
