We don’t say it enough: we’re so proud of our clients. They do amazing work day in and day out. When extraordinary times come – whether that’s an ambitious campaign or an act of nature – they meet the challenge.
Here are just a few of the teams we can’t stop talking about:
Donors, volunteers, community leaders, partners, and invited guests broke ground on the expansion and renovation of the Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA (WI) on August 23. The $12M+ renovation / expansion will add a child care, field house and healthy living center to the facility. The project will allow the Y to form deeper partnerships and collaborations with area schools, Head Start, Marshfield Clinic Health System and others, ensuring that more people in the community will have access to a full range of opportunities to improve their quality of life.
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, much of the city of Houston as well as communities all throughout Texas’s Gulf Coast, struggled with extreme flooding and other hurricane damage. The YMCAs stepped in to open their facilities as shelters, to provide child care and extend day camp as the schools weren’t able to open as expected, and to funnel resources into local neighborhoods as quickly as possible. Basically, the Ys did what Ys always do – evolve to meet the needs of their communities, even if those needs are as simple as a place to take a shower, recharge a phone, or let kids who have been cooped up too long out to play. For more information, visit the YMCA of Greater Houston’s Facebook page.
And, as the YMCAs in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama regroup after Hurricane Irma, they too will be adapting to help their communities heal.
This is just a glimpse into the great work we get to witness every day. Thanks to all of you working in nonprofits, schools, faith-based communities and other organizations. Your diligent efforts make a difference and we’re so proud to walk along side you!
